There’s something timeless about a palm tree—elegant, resilient, and always reaching for the light. To me, palms carry a sense of nostalgia and escape: they evoke travel, warm coastlines, and moments when life feels expansive and free. This series celebrates their sculptural beauty against the shifting skies of California and beyond. Shot on 35mm film and infused with my film soup process, these pieces capture palms not just as trees, but as living symbols of place, memory, and a touch of paradise.

I’ve been obsessed with cherry blossoms for decades—the pinks draw me in every year, and I make it a point to photograph them whenever they bloom. Their beauty feels both timeless and fleeting, and I love capturing that balance. While cherry blossoms are breathtaking on their own, film soup transforms them into something otherworldly—turning soft petals into rainbow veils of color, and fleeting blooms into lasting works of art.
